Tourists prefer here a lot.
The fame of Fatih Karadeniz Pidecisi at Fatih has not been restricted to the town. At the same time, the taste of their pide attracts many international tourists from all around the World. When I sit on the table, there were lots of tourists around me speaking French, Japanese and English. The effort of the waiters to meet their expectations and their rush is really nice to see in terms of hospitality.
There are lots of people from İstanbul that don’t know about this place. It’s because Fatih is a bit distant and seems like a quiet town. However, there is an abundance of gems in this town. The best local cuisines of İstanbul come from this district. Fatih Karadeniz Pidecisi is one of these places. The crunchy and buttery pide of Black ses comes alive here with the hands of chefs. .
I’ve found the onion of the minced meat pide a bit overdone. The balance of salt is ideal. I always prefer minced meat pide orpide with beef cubes (kuşbaşılıpide), because chefs use a lot of tomato sauce and therefore the bottom part of the dough gets too soft. In fact, the dough of minced meat pide is still crunchy. The minced meat does not smell like it’s of good quality.
Pide with Cheese is very delicious and light
They put Trabzon cheese inpide with cheese. With these kinds of cheese, I usually have trouble with the proportions of fat or salt; if one is good, the other is bad. This time it’s balanced well. You don’t have heartburn afterwards. I think the most successful element of pidesmade here are the crunchiness of the dough. When they spread some butter on top and serve you pide with this delicious view, it’s even tastier!
Their ayran is homemade. For those connoisseurs that don’t like savoury taste like me, it’s a very good quality ayran. However, I know that many people will find it unsalted. It’s a good place for a local lunch, or when you crave for pide.
